How to buy tickets for the Auschwitz concentration camp?

When we visited the Auschwitz concentration camp, we didn’t buy the tickets before going. We did the Spanish tour and we thought it was not worth, since we were going a few days after Easter week, therefore there was not going to be many tourists. We bought the tickets directly in the concentration camp. Of course, before going we checked the timetables for the spanish to not be late. I think nowadays that’s not an option anymore, the demand for this tickets has grown a lot and sometimes, even with a lot of time ahead they are sold out.

Guided tours gave us some headphones, in case the guide moves away you don’t miss anything. The guided visit is about 4 hours approximately. When we did it, it was during the lunchtime, so it’s better to bring some snacks.

Alternatives to the official guided tour

After writing this post we’ve been receiving messages and comments that in peak season there are no tickets for the concentration camp in the official website. As we did with the official guide, we do not know what the private operators will be like, but if you do not have another one here we leave you with a tour to Auschwitz that includes the transfer to the concentration camp from Krakow, and also has very good ratings.
